UPDATE 12:00PM OCT. 4: The elderly woman, 87-year-old Lornette Braet, died of her injuries Monday afternoon. Timmins Police say the taxi driver was turning right onto MacLean Dr., and stayed at the scene. His name will not be released.
Timmins Police Service is looking for your help regarding a car-pedestrian accident that took place early yesterday morning.
A taxi was completing a right turn off of Jubilee Blvd onto McLean Drive when it struck a pedestrian using the crosswalk. An elderly female pedestrian sustained significant injuries as was transported to Timmins and District Hospital.
The intersection was closed for several hours until the investigation was completed.
Police are asking you to call them if you saw the accident or witnessed any unusual driving behaviour,
