Northeastern Ontario Family and Children’s Services mark Children’s Mental Health Week

Northeastern Ontario Family and Children’s Services got a jump on Children’s Mental Health Week is next week with a chalk and window painting competition at its offices.

Child and youth mental health director Lauren Smith says the week means to raise awareness of mental health, and the services NEOFACS offers.

“We know that there are limited resources in the area,” she remarks, “and just want to raise as much awareness as we can and support the families.”

Smith says another barrier is identifying mental health professionals in the region.
