Paintings of Jo-Anne Fortin

The Timmins and District Hospital Foundation is proud to feature the paintings of Jo-Anne Fortin in the art gallery until February 16, 2018.  Jo-Anne’s exhibition features an eclectic collection of tributes to the people and places that inspire her.  She paints in vibrant colours, sharing her stories of inspiration in abstract and often humorous ways.  Balancing the humor is the homage to people now gone but definitely not forgotten.   Jo-Anne lives in Kapuskasing and is actively involved in the visual arts and musical…

We are out asking for donations to the Timmins Kinsmen Club.   We are shooting for a mile of "toonies" ! ALL ( 100% ) of proceeds are used locally to assist charitable organizations and CF families. Tales and Tails of Joy is an ongoing program at the Timmins Public Library, geared to beginner and reluctant readers. On Monday evenings, from 6:00 to 7:00, St. John Ambulance Child-Certified Therapy Dogs will be ‘all ears’ for a reading session with a child. The program is free, but registration is required for a 30-minute time slot. Many studies have been performed, demonstrating the benefits of human contact with animals.
