Celebration of the life of Vic Power set for Wednesday evening at Timmins Museum

A celebration of life remembering Vic Power takes place Wednesday evening at the Timmins Museum. The city’s longest serving mayor died on February 3rd, just a couple weeks before his 90th birthday.

Museum director-curator Karen Bachmann says the family decided on the museum as the location.  They begin accepting visitors at 6:00pm Tributes begin at around 6:30.

“There’s a trio from the Timmins Symphony Orchestra who will also be performing throughout the course of the evening,” says Bachmann. “So we just invite people to come, have a chat with the family and just help us celebrate this former mayor.”

The museum location and the involvement of the symphony are apropos of both Mayor Power and his wife, Clarice.

“They’ve both been involved with both the symphony and the museum for a number of years,” notes Bachmann, “which was why the family asked that the celebration happen at the museum, because it was near and dear to Vic Power’s heart.”
