Vaccination campaign not taking a holiday

The Porcupine Health Unit region is sitting at 74.6% of eligible people having at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.  That’s good, according to program manager Kendra Brunet. The campaign to get everyone vaccinated, however, continues through the Canada Day holiday.

There’s a pop-up clinic today until 8:00pm at Gillies Lake.  Brunet says there’s more to come tomorrow.

“We are set up at the McIntyre Arena for walk-ins, as well as a drive-through at the South Porcupine ambulance base,” says Brunet. They’re both running 10:00am-6:00pm. “So on July 1st,” she continues, “we’ll be in the Hollinger Park.  That’s ten to four. July 2nd we’ll be at the Metro, ten to four as well.”

Then Saturday, you can get jab number 1 or 2 at Participark, during the farmers market.

Brunet says anyone 12 and over is eligible.  If it’s for dose 2, it has to be 28 days after the first one, even if you were given a card with a date for the second one.  You can get it earlier at one of the pop-ups or drive-throughs.
