Two people are dead following a two-vehicle crash on HWY 655 yesterday (Dec. 20).
That’s according to the OPP who says just before 3:00 p.m., emergency crews responded to the crash approximately six KM south of HWY 11.
Police say a 64-year-old passenger from Cochrane was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.
The driver of the other vehicle, an 87-year-old from Kapuskasing, was transported to hospital but was later pronounced dead.
The highway was fully closed for approximately 12 hours.
The investigation is ongoing.
