Kidd Operations gives a fire truck to Collège Boréal

Collège Boréal’s Timmins campus has a new-old fire truck for its truck and coach tech program.

The keys were handed over by Glencore’s Kidd Operations.

Site safety and emergency response coordinator Guy Lamb says a new fire truck was recently bought… so the old one isn’t needed.  Giving it to the college is the type of thing that happens occasionally.

“If we find that there’s something in the community that could benefit from it like colleges or schools, then we would definitely forward it.  We may even donate vehicles for auto extrication training, stuff like that,” he remarks.

“We’re just happy that the college is willing to take it and they can make use of it instead of it going to a scrap yard or something.”

Lamb estimates that the value of the donated fire truck is less than ten-thousand dollars.
