The house lights haven’t even dimmed yet, and the first ever Timmins Film Festival is showing signs of being a resounding success.

“Everything’s good to go,” reports Timmins Film Society member Paul Charette. He says tickets sold very quickly – however that doesn’t necessarily mean you’re out of luck for this weekend’s festival.

“We can’t guarantee it, but there may be a few tickets available at the door,” says Charette.

With Timmins’ reputation for people buying tickets at the last minute, Charette notes that that was organizers’ biggest concern about their first foray into staging a festival.

“You have absolutely no idea and it’s so out of your control, it’s very nerve wracking.”

The full line-up of movies is on the film society’s Facebook page. The Timmins Film Festival runs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
