Local firefighters are looking to purchase new bunker gear. The Timmins Fire Department is looking to purchase 160 complete sets and 28 spare sets, costing about $372,000 in total. Chief Mike Pintar says most of their gear is wearing down from being washed after every incident to get rid of contaminants in the fabric. //www.mytimminsnow.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/bunker-gear-2.mp3 Pintar adds they have to buy the spare gear in case some of it is out of commission. //www.mytimminsnow.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/bunker-gear-1-1.mp3 City Council is looking at this request and will bring it back for possible approval.
