The countdown is on to the Feeding Families Radiothon in support of the Stan Fowler Fund set for next Thursday Dec. 7 from 6 am to 6 pm. Last year the radiothon raised $60,000 and helped over 400 people and families in need.
Stan Fowler Fund chairman John McCauley says they have made some changes to the vouchers to take into account the higher food prices.
“For the last few years we were giving out $125 voucher and this year increased it to $150,” he said. “But we would like to increase it more But we don’t know from year to year how many people we are going to get and how much money we are going to bring in.”
McCauley says applications for the vouchers are starting to come in and believes there are going to be more families requiring assistance this holiday season.
There are several ways to make a donation on radiothon day from calling in or dropping it off in person.
