City getting government ‘Restart Funds’

The city is getting $3,154,512 from the senior levels of government in “safe restart” funding.

A quarter of that — $775,512 —  goes to transit.

The money is expected to cover the projected shortfall caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a statement, Mayor George Pirie says the money will put city hall in a good financial position moving forward.
