If you’re in the market to buy a fire hall, Timmins City Hall has a deal for you.
It’s one of the topics coming up at Tuesday’s regular meeting of city council.
Council will deal with a resolution to put the former Whitney Fire Hall up for sale through the Request for Proposals process.
The property on Dixon Street in Porcupine isn’t being used as a fire hall anymore, since the Whitney volunteers moved into the new complex at Northern College. Timmins-Porcupine Search and Rescue has already shown some interest in buying it.
When you combine its two storeys, you’re looking at a combined floor space of just over 4,000 square feet. The building’s been appraised at $250,000.
Also at the council meeting, Chamber of Commerce president Val Venneri will present the 2019 business confidence report. In a nutshell, it says local businesses remain positive with an outlook to grow.
The meeting starts at 6:00pm.
