Junior Vendors Day and different produce at weekly market

Tomorrow is Junior Vendors Day at the Mountjoy Farmers Market on Riverside Drive.

Market chairman Garnet Wilcox says they’ve had a couple of junior vendors at past markets, and are expanding on it this week.

“We’ll have products like baked goods, crafts that are made by young people,” Wilcox explains.  “So a junior vendor is basically someone 13 and under that makes their own products.”

As August wraps up and we get closer to fall, the variety of produce at the market continues to change.

Market chairman Garnet Wilcox has a rundown:

“We have more produce coming in this time of year,” the chairman says,  “so other than the regular carrots and potatoes, we’re also seeing more zucchini, cucumbers, squash, dill, tomatoes, things like that as well.”

The market opens at 8:00am  and operates until 1:00pm, or while supplies last.
