New president at Timmins Chamber of Commerce; rebranding coming

The gavel has been handed over from Timmins Chamber of Commerce president Nancy Mageau to incoming president Val Venneri.  He officially takes office on Sunday.

Mageau imparted some advice on her successor:

“Just to be involved and listen to the membership and be active and work for our membership to help our community prosper,” she said.

“I’m really looking forward to the upcoming year,” Venneri replied. “I know it’s going to be a big commitment timewise.  It’s a cause that I truly believe and I’ve enjoyed my five years on the Chamber.”

The official handover complete, a more candid, personal way of ceding the presidency of the Timmins Chamber of Commerce, as Nancy Mageau and Val Venneri hug.

One of the most visible aspects of Venneri’s presidency will be a rebranding of the Chamber

A name change? – Perhaps.

Few details are being revealed before the annual general meeting next month.

Venneri says the rebranding will include a refresh of events and greater focus on the business community.

“ This revamp of the Chamber’s brand will breathe new life into the Chamber’s image, the programs and services we provide, and build on the momentum of our advocacy efforts, all to better serve our members.”

Venneri says he hopes it also serves to make Timmins residents in general more aware of what the Chamber does.
