‘Mission Nutrition’ looking for donations at Downtown Timmins Urban Park

A group of volunteers at Living Space knows how important nutrition is to clients of the homeless shelter.  And they’ll be at this week’s Downtown Timmins Urban Park, collecting food donations to help them.

Julie Levesque is Living Space’s volunteer coordinator and founder of HOPE Comfort Kits and Community Outreach.

She hopes to fill the HOPE van with donations.

“We’re looking for canned goods, some soup broths even, as well as shampoo – the small travel size shampoo – conditioner, laundry soap as well as dishwasher soap,” she lists, “the basic things that we need just to run at the shelter.”

Cash is also accepted, but Levesque prefers grocery cards.

“Those are actually a little easier because then what we can do is on a weekly basis we can go out and we can purchase exactly what we need for the meals that we have planned for the week.”
