Music camp for kids regardless of instrumental experience

Whether your kid has never picked up a musical instrument or has been playing since infancy, he or she might be interested in the Timmins Symphony Orchestra’s music camp.

Music director Josh Wood says it’s for kids between six and 13. It runs August 12th to 16th,  and is a chance to try a large range of instruments —  including one’s own voice.

“There’s singing in a choir, there’s recorders, they can take violin lessons, they can take brass lessons, woodwind lessons, piano, basically anything they want to be introduced to,” Wood outlines.

He says it’s for any and all musical levels, starting at zero.

“Basically the people that are running the camp are the faculty members for the music school at the Timmins Symphony.  And in our private studios we teach anywhere from kids four years of age up to people in their 70s and 80s.  At the camp, we have both group lessons and private individual lessons.”

Bring your own instrument, if you have one, but all instruments are provided.
