TADH foundation stages ‘gigantic yard sale’

Yard sale enthusiasts will have to expand this week’s schedule, to include Thursday in their usual Saturday-Sunday activities.

The Timmins and District Hospital Foundation is having what acting executive director Jason Laneville calls “a gigantic yard sale” in the hospital’s west parking lot.

“We will have signage directing you to the right spot,” he assures bargain hunters.

The sale will raise money for new medical equipment, while also making room in storage areas at the hospital.

“We are looking at stuff like computer monitors, laptop accessories, filing cabinets, shelving units, industrial windows and doors, picture frames, office furniture, and a bunch more little things,” Laneville says, reciting part of the list.

“Basically, it’s older inventory that is no longer needed, sitting in storage,” he tells My Timmins Now Dot Com.  “It’s a win-win situation.  We’re able to help the hospital make some room and at the same time, we’re able to sell some of these items and raise some money for the hospital foundation.”

He agrees that there are a lot of good items for that student headed off to school in the fall, or for the cottage, for instance.

“We have some older hospital doors that have been in storage for many, many years.  These are high quality steel doors… cottage, a lot of different uses, for sure.”

The terms are cash only and all sales are final.

“It’s going to be a great day,” he predicts. “It goes from 7:00am to 7:00pm and we’re looking forward to raise a little bit of funds for the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation.”

“Rain or shine, we will be there.”
