Drug seizure on James Bay Winter road

Ever since the remote First Nations declared a state of emergency involving drugs and alcohol, the Moosonee OPP have stepped up patrols to stop drugs from entering the communities.   On Wednesday a regular patrol along the James Bay Winter road caught a 32-year-old man with drugs in his vehicle.  Inside the Moosonee man’s vehicle was Percocet, marihuana and cocaine.  He’s facing charges of possession of opioids, cocaine and marihuana.  Police say they’ll continue with their stepped up patrols all winter long to keep drugs out of the First Nation communities.  The stop and seizure took place between Fort Albany and Moosonee.
