North Claybelt’s head start in business goes virtual

North Claybelt Community Futures Development Head Start in Business program has gone through a makeover due to the pandemic. Program coordinator Trista Vermette says the courses that teaches school children the basics of business are being offered virtually instead of live in the classrooms.

“Live video conference facilitated by head start in business program coordinators, so you would have them live on your feed,” she said. “And the second option for teachers who are having more challenges with scheduling or having issues with broadband connection, we also offer webinars. These are pre-recorded sessions.”

Vermette says Head Start in Business has kept three of their more popular programs and added three more.

“Six flagship workshops that we offer in schools from kindergarten to Grade 12, but are all curriculum connected through the Ontario Education curriculum,” she said. “They are all offered free and in both official languages French and English.”
