Benefit hockey game for a little girl named Peyton

A little Timmins girl named Peyton and her family will benefit from a charity hockey game on January 29th at the Archie Dillon Sportsplex.

The Timmins Flyers Midget-A team will play a team made up of provincial and city police officers, firefighters and paramedics.

OPP Constable Michelle Simard is also a Flyers hockey Mom.  She says Peyton has a congenital heart defect.

“The heart defect has caused compression on her trachea and it makes it difficult for her to breathe and fight off infections,” says Simard

Peyton goes often to the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario in Ottawa for checkups and treatments.  That part of it is paid for by OHIP, but all the other expenses her family incurs are not.

“The Timmins Flyers Midget A hockey club has been doing this since 2013,” Simard notes. “They pick a family and they raise money for them.”

The game next Wednesday is at 8:00pm.  Admission is whatever you think you can afford.  There will also be a 50-50 draw and a silent auction.
