Award results for Saturday’s Santa Claus Parade are in.
The Timmins BIA says this was one of the biggest parades in years with over 50 floats celebrating the “Christmas Around the World” theme. The judges say a lot of creativity and hard work went into each entry.
There were 12 awards handed out including:
Best in Theme: Northern College
Best Walking Group: Pat Picard School of Dance
Best Small Entry: École secondaire catholique Thériault
Most Spirited: Melissa Kelly Dance Academy
Best Large Entry: Kidd Operations
Best animal Entry: Timmins & District Humane Society
Best Marching Band: RCSCC 101 Tiger- Sea Cadets
Most Comical: Dorrington Law & Associates
Most Original: Air Creebec
Brightest: 3Phaze Electrical
Judges Choice: Moose FM and mytimminsnow.com
Most Artistic: Kataquapit
The BIA is thanking the over 100 volunteers and over 15,000 spectators for taking part.
The theme for next year’s parade will be announced at a plaque presentation before council at a later date.
