One of the main mining companies trying to develop the Ring of Fire is looking to China to help launch the chromite site. KWG has hired a Chinese railroad company to determine the feasibility of building a rail line to the site.
KWG spokesman Bruce Hodgman says this is a major turning point for the Ring of Fire. If the rail company determines the line is feasible and builds the connecting link, it could be paid for the work by becoming a partner in the chromite project. And Hodgman adds if the rail line goes through, KWG still wants Ontario Northland Railway to haul the chromite.
