Human remains have been found in the Mattagami River. Timmins Police got the call yesterday afternoon about the remains, which were found in the Sandy Falls area. Police are saying they think the body has been in the water for a long time. They are now reviewing all outstanding missing persons files. Foul play is not suspected.

The body will be sent to Toronto for a post-mortem, to determine cause of death and identity. A date for the post-mortem hasn’t been scheduled yet, and police aren’t releasing any details until after it is complete.
