The drama of a hockey series Game 7 comes to The Mac Tuesday night

As much as the Timmins Rock are known for attracting big crowds for hockey games, Tuesday night is shaping up to be the biggest.

It’s Game 7 of the NOJHL East Division final between the Rock and the Powassan Voodoos.

More than 1,200 tickets have already been sold.  Rock board member Jason Kelly asks that if you plan to stand, get a standing room ticket, so seats can be sold to fans who want them.

Kelly advises you to arrive early for the 7:30pm game, because there will be a line-up out the door.

“Our volunteers do the best to get everyone in as quickly as possible” he says. “Get there early, get a good parking spot, sit down and enjoy the game and have a popcorn or a beverage and enjoy the action because it will be crazy.”

Kelly is also part of the broadcast team on the livestream of Rock games.  He notes that every game so far in this series has been won on the road.  Don’t be surprised to hear that the sign at the Powassan Sportsplex has disappeared.

“It’s really weird to see teams not being able to win at home. It’s usually the total opposite,” observes Kelly, “so my plan is to go get the sign in Powassan and bring it to the Mac (Tuesday night).”

The winner moves on to the league final against Sudbury.  Timmins are the defending champs.
