Young Eagles program again encouraging kids to get into aviation with program June 8th

The Timmins Flying Club’s Young Eagles program is trying again this year to get kids 8 to 17 interested in aviation.  It’s promoting “freedom of flight”.

On Saturday, June 8th, a family event with all kinds of displays will be set up at the airport.  Coordinator Noel Belair says the highlight is, of course, taking those kids for a flight over the city, cruising at about 2,800 feet.

“We take off from the Timmins Airport,” he outlines. “We fly over Big Water, and then we fly over the Porcupine Lake area and then we do a wide circle over the city, the south end of the city over Walmart and then come back in.”

There are volumes of additional information in the interview we’ve posted below.

Everything that day is free.  Belair says registration will be accepted at the aviation-related displays at the Sportsmen’s Show, April 27th and 28th at the Mac.  It’s first come, first served and registrations will be cut off at 70.
