Samsung invests in Canada Nickel Company

A second investor has been added to the Canada Nickel Company.

Samsung SDI has announced it’s putting $18.5 million into the company to become an 8.7 per cent shareholder and acquire 10 per cent equity interest in the Crawford Mine Project that’s located on Highway 655 near Timmins.

Canada Nickel CEO Mark Selby says as they advance the Crawford project it’s important to form long-term partnerships with companies that understand how crucial this production is for the electric vehicle supply chain.

Samsung SDI is a manufacturer of rechargeable batteries for the IT industry, automobiles and energy storage systems.

Recently, Canada Nickel announced that Agnico Eagle (Ag-knee-co) had invested more than $34 million to become a 12 per cent shareholder.
