Two Kapuskasing residents have been named to Destination Canada, that will visit France and Morocco later this month. Marie-Josee Tremblay (Ma-ree Joe-zeh Tremblay) from Reseau (Rey-zoh) du Nord and Northern Corridor Chamber of Commerce President Cathy Courchesne (Coor-shine) will be part of the group that will attend the francophone job fair.
Tremblay says the goal is to attract foreign workers to fill job vacancies in the north, and she’s thrilled to have this opportunity.
“To present the immigration pathway that we have put in place the previous years,” she said. “Put our communities on the map for people to know like Northern Ontario does exist there’s a lot of communities, there’s a lot of opportunities, a lot of job offers.”
Tremblay says the job fair takes them to first to Paris, France.
“We’re going to be doing kind of like a speed dating but it’s going to be interviews every few minutes to do the first triage for our talents that are going to be applying for the job offers that our employers have submitted to us,” she said.
