Quebec man charged by MNRF under forest fire prevention act

The Natural Resources and Forestry Ministry has fined a Quebec resident with disobeying an order under the forest fire prevention act.

The Orford, Quebec resident was seen traveling on Translimit Road East of Cochrane on July 1st. The road had been restricted under an emergency order due to a forest fire. The MNRF say the man disregarded the signage and road closure barricade placed at the Ontario-Quebec border and travelling through the restricted area.  He was fined $1,650 for the incident.
