Pierre Poilièvre takes verbal shots at Justin Trudeau during Timmins rally

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to announce a cabinet shuffle on Wednesday.

To Opposition Leader Pierre Poilièvre, it’s a mass firing, typical of Trudeau’s divide and distract strategy to avert attention from his economic and social failures. He made his remarks at a party rally in Timmins on Tuesday night.

“Did you hear about his latest distraction? He’s going to fire seven of his own ministers,” he said. “Isn’t that incredible? Is that not an admission that he has done more harm to the country than anyone else, that he has to fire a quarter of his cabinet, that it’s going so badly?”

Poilièvre said it’s “the guy on top” who should be fired.

POILIEVRE ON CRIME

At that same rally in Timmins, Poilièvre blamed the NDP and Liberals for the crime wave sweeping Canada.  He said the catch-and-release bail system creates repeat offenderss —  not only in violent crime, but also property crime.

“Burglaries are up here in Timmins. So here’s my common sense plan: We’re going to bring an end to catch and release. We’ll bring in jail and not bail for the repeat offenders,” he said, garnering loud applause from party supporters at the event.

Poilièvre also pledged mandatory jail time for serious violent offenders.

The Conservative Party leader has a similar rally in Kapuskasing Wednesday evening.
