The NOJHL champion Timmins Rock hockey team will be celebrated next Friday night, May 26th, with a parade and gathering.
Team board member Mark Fenton says the parade will begin at 6:00pm at the museum, and go down Brunette Rd. to the Hollinger Park.
“We’ll have some activities for the fans; autograph signings; a few words from some people from the team,” Fenton outlines, “and be a way for our fans to celebrate a long season, a successful season, probably one that we’ll remember for a very long time here in Timmins.”
Fenton says the board wants a nice, big celebration for such a special group of young men.
“We noticed Game 1, September 9th against Kirkland Lake just how tight knit that team was. So a celebration of sorts needs to happen.”
Fenton also acknowledges the tight bond the team has had with its fans and the entire community.
The Rock ended the Centennial Cup national Junior A tournament with two wins and two losses.
