Timmins company pitches in to the clean-up after big Southern Ontario storm

Shortly after last Saturday’s monster storm left its path of destruction across Southern Ontario… a Timmins company headed down to help with the clean-up.

Taylor Dayment owns Timmins Tree Service. He and crew member Matt Niemi headed out Monday for the Uxbridge-Stouffville-Aurora area.

“It was like match sticks” Dayment describes the scene. “Trees were all over the place. Telephone poles, hydro poles all over, wires down.”

He says they worked sunrise to sundown every day. They got home Sunday night to a backlog of their own work.

“We were fully booked,” Dayment notes. “A lot of our customers were very understanding and realized the grasp of the situation. They were more than understanding to have things put off for a week or so, so that we could go do that and help out.”

Dayment says it’s the type of situation that if it were reversed, you would hope for help from other areas.

“Trees were snapped like matchsticks,” says Taylor Dayment. (Photo supplied)
