With the latest surge in COVID-19 cases caused mostly by the Omicron variant… public health units across Ontario are swamped with contact and tracing work.
Porcupine Health Unit medical officer of health Dr. Lianne Catton says provincial government workers are now pitching in.
“So if you see a number that you don’t recognize on your phone or a non-local number, and you recently were tested for Covid, please answer that phone,” the MOH urges.
“They will give you direction with respect to your isolation, with respect to timing and with respect to any next steps they’re asking in terms of informing individuals that you have spent time with or your workplace about your positive test result.”
Catton adds that the PHU website will also be updated with that information.
