Check out these summer tours from Tourism

Visitors and locals can learn more about Timmins this summer with a program from Tourism. They are offering a bunch of tours at different spots around town. Included is a Gold Corp tour, to see the Hollinger Open Pit, and a self guided tour across the city. Guy Lamarche, Manager of Tourism Timmins, says the tours give more options for things to do over the summer.

“I think it’s important to share with outsiders some of the things that are uniquely Timmins,” says Lamarche. “And I also think it’s important to remind residents of the city what we’re made of. So it’s an opportunity to share in that wealth.

Lamarche says there is a certain expectation from tourists to have tours that speak to the community. He says the tours were all but sold out last year, and hopes the same for this year.

Gold Corp: Coniaurum and Hollinger Tailings Management Area reclamation sites along with some stops to see the Hollinger Open Pit project. Tour dates are July 9th, 23rd, and 30th, as well as August 6th, 20th, and 27th.
