Some people felt the Earth move in Timmins very early Sunday morning, and they weren’t imagining it.
Glencore confirms a seismic event about 9,600 feet underground at the Kidd Mine at precisely 1:41 a.m. It registered 2.9 on the Nuttli Scale.
The company says the 21 workers on shift were already in refuge stations waiting for scheduled blasting… and were brought to the surface without any injuries.
Investigations are underway to determine infrastructure and ground conditions, as mining operations continue.
