Mayor George Pirie looking for an official Christmas card – you could design it

The budding artist in your family has a chance to design Mayor George Pirie’s official Christmas card.

His administrative assistant Lisa Greer came up with the idea for a contest, and His Worship went for it.  He calls it a pick-me-up in a negative year.

“It’s a positive, cheery message and one that I’m glad to help out with,” he says.

The contest is open to elementary school students.  Three designs will be chosen, and the young artist’s photo, name and age printed on the back of each.  They’ll also win gift certificates.

“There’s no theme, just Merry Christmas,” the mayor tells My Timmins Now Dot Com. “Let’s have a bit of fun with it. It should be fun.”

Submit your entry to [email protected] by next Friday, November 27.  Judging takes place on Tuesday, December 1.
