COVID-19 has forced many events and activities to go virtual this year, and the Timmins Chamber of Commerce NOVA Business Excellence Awards are no different. The ceremony is set for tomorrow night at 8 o’clock at www.yourplacetowatch.com , and on Eastlink Television. Business Services Manager Carmen Swartz says they’ve added a unique twist to this year’s theme of Camp Nova the Nature of Business.
“Our volunteers have delivered Camp Nova care packages to all of our finalists that contain everything you can think of if you are going on a camping trip from snacks to drinks and S’mores,” Swartz said. “We’ve encouraged all of our finalists to host their own celebrations either at their home or even in their backyards. Several of them are hosting small backyard gatherings.”
A pre- event reception will take place at 7:30 pm via zoom followed by the pre-recorded awards show.
There are 16 different categories this year that will highlight the success in local businesses.
