Moose FM, My Timmins Now Dot Com and Newmont Porcupine have just launched the Community Voice Fund.
Our general manager, Scott Armstrong, says it will give one community organization a free month of advertising, to spotlight the work they do and perhaps help attract volunteers and funding for that work.
“We got together with our partners at Newmont Porcupine and figured out a way to help these organizations through a process where we’re sharing donation of the airtime,” remarks Armstrong, “giving them a platform to get their stories out there.”
He adds that some of the best community work is done in silence with little or no fanfare.
Organizations can find the Community Voice Fund application on My Timmins Now Dot Com starting tomorrow.
“Organizations or groups can go on there and tell their story and why they’re interested in participating in this program that’s going to award them an entire month of free advertising,” says Armstrong. “Then the Community Voice Fund committee will vet all the applicants and we’ll select a different organization each month.”
