An open thank you letter from Timmins Police Service

Amid the trying times associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, the Timmins Police Service has been the recipient of a number of donations made by local businesses, suppliers, and local organizations.

Donations of PPE equipment and other materials vital to the safety of our front line officers and other contributions have been made by a varied array of local businesses.

Regardless of the type, quantity, or substance of the donation, these gestures demonstrate concern for the morale and well-being of our officers.

These gestures reinforce the sense that, as a community, the contributions made by first responders in terms of commitment to public safety is genuinely appreciated.

These are trying times for everyone in Timmins.  This pandemic is allowing for anxiety, stress, and in some cases, misinformation, to take hold and places elevated demands on those persons responsible for keeping our community safe.

The Timmins Police Service, both sworn officers and civilian support staff, wish to convey their gratitude for these selfless gestures that boost morale and provide logistical support.

We are confronted with challenges and work daily to adapt to these changing situations.

Our resolve is strengthened by the support provided by our community stakeholders, individual citizens, and local entrepreneurs.

  Cheers,

Marc Depatie
