Let your Irish out, but be responsible

It takes a lot more than a virus to keep the Irish or people who wish they were Irish from celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.

Timmins Police communications coordinator Marc Depatie points out that tomorrow is March 17th .

“The Timmins Police Service, working alongside the local MADD chapter and the District of Cochrane Crime Stoppers program, are collectively issuing a public safety reminder to all persons of Irish lineage or those who will adopt a temporary point of view for St. Paddy’s Day,” he states.”

The advice is the same as for any holiday:  Plan ahead to make sure you have a designated driver or a sober ride home after drinking beer – green or any other colour.

“Enjoy yourself.  We’re not anti-fun by any means, but there has to be an element of responsibility as far as you get home.”
