Market expects all vendors back from 2019

We’re four months away from the first Mountjoy Farmers Market of the year, and the excitement is already building.

Chairman Garnet Wilcox says he’s expecting all the vendors back from last year.

“None of them have said they’re not coming,” he tells My Timmins Now Dot Com.  Some of them have definitely expressed interest and said they’re going to pay for the full season.  So that definitely showsthat we did something right last year.”

Wilcox has no doubt that the move from the Mountjoy Arena to Riverside Drive was a good one.  He says traffic was more than double on most market Saturdays, even triple on occasion.

“I only see it growing because we have been contacted by some new vendors, some new junior members as well.  People want to contact us early.  We are working on the new application forms and those should be out soon.”

Wilcox is also looking forward to this spring’s construction of a 60 x 100 ft. pavilion to protect vendors and shoppers from sun and rain.
