Beer Fest back April 4th

Your annual chance to indulge your taste in craft suds comes up Saturday, April 4th at the McIntyre Curling Club.

For the third straight year, the Timmins Festivals and Events Committee is organizing Beer Fest.

Chairman John Olaveson (OH-lahv-sun) says there will be two new beer vendors added – one from Kirkland Lake, the other from South River.  And if beer isn’t exactly your cup of tea…

“New to the mix is we’re adding a distillery from Sudbury, because we have some some feedback from the past that some people don’t like beer,” according to Olaveson, “so we thought we’d try to bring in a distillery and try to bring those people in.”

Organizers are looking at adding a few more games.

“I’m also looking at bringing in an acoustic lounge,” says Olaveson, “possibly up in the lounge area (and) getting some acoustic artists to play up there.”

Olaveson says the line-up for that should be solidified within the next couple of weeks.

Advance tickets are now on sale on the committee’s web site. All proceeds go to the Rock on the River summer music festival.
