Unlocked shed helps burglar break in to house

Timmins Police communications coordinator Marc Depatie says break-ins are always a concern.  That’s why he keeps repeating the “lock it or lose it” mantra.

One incident currently under investigation was made easier for the burglar by an unlocked shed yielding him something to break into the house with.

“Anything that can be used as a prying tool of any sort, if it’s left at the would-be thief’s disposal, they will put it to use against the property owners,” says Depatie.

You can see surveillance camera photos of the suspect on our website and that of the Timmins Police Service.

“In this instance, a very crisp image of the thief is captured, so we’re hopeful that either through Crime Stoppers or through someone else coming forward, that we’re able to identify the suspect.”
