Time to fall back to standard time and check batteries in smoke, CO detectors

We change time from daylight to standard tomorrow night, so Timmins  fire prevention officer Rock Rice reminds us that it’s time to pay some attention to our smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

We’d like to see all the individual homes change their batteries to make sure that they have new power to their alarms and also to test them to make sure that they’re still working,” he says.

Rice adds to check the date stamp on your detectors.  “If it’s more than ten years old, they should be replaced.”
