Algonquin Blvd. is closed between Maple St. and Cedar St. tonight, as well as Balsam St. between Third Ave. and Fifth Ave. tonight, due to what police call “a pedestrain related motor collision.” It isn’t clear how long the closure and resulting detours will last. All investigators are saying as of late Monday night is “until further notice.”
They are saying that at about 8:45pm, a 57-year-old man was hit by a pick-up truck. He was taken to hospital with injuries considered serious but not a threat to his life.
Commercial truck drivers are being asked to be extra cautious while detouring around the closure.
