Committee members for the Mountjoy Farmers Market are anxious to get the 2019 season underway.
It will be in its new, permanent location, at Participark on Riverside Drive.
Patsy Schmidt says vendors will have a captive audience for the first day of operation.
“The opening day for the Mountjoy Farmers Market is July 1st and we’ll be under tents for now, until we get our new building up and built.”
That captive audience will be the thousands of people also going to the park for Canada Day festivities. That’s a Monday. After that, the market will be open on Saturdays from 9:00am to 1:00pm until October 12th.
Schmidt looks forward to day one.
“There should be a variety of vegetables and meat, crafts, soaps. We haven’t hammered down exactly all the vendors that will be attending, but we’re looking for a good turnout of farmers and artisans and we’re always looking for more.”
