The major route through Timmins is closed this morning, due to an accident on Algonquin Blvd. West near Thériault Blvd.
Algonquin is shut down between Thériault and Mattagami Dr. City police say a truck struck power lines in the area, necessitating the closure for safety reasons.
To detour around it, eastbound traffic can take Mattagami Dr. to Wilson Ave. or Commercial Ave.
Westbound traffic can take Thériault to Airport Road and Lafleur Dr. Remember: Norman St. is still closed because of potential flooding.
There is no confirmation yet on whether anyone was hurt in the collision, or how long the closure will last.
