In light of unpredictable water levels in the city of Timmins and surrounding area, the need for roadway closures will be undertaken for public safety reasons.Barricades prohibiting motor vehicle traffic in affected areas will effectively restrict access by local traffic.Motorists found on closed roadways will, depending on the circumstances, be served with an Offence Notices under the applicable section of the Highway Traffic Act which carry monetary fines and 3 demerit points.The anticipated cooperation of the motoring public is appreciated by the Timmins Police Service.
