College hires buses for Easter Monday exams

Here’s a question that won’t be on any exam next week at Northern College, so we’re going to ask it:  What happens when exams begin on a day – say, Easter Monday – when city buses are on a Sunday schedule?

The answer comes from the dean of business and community services, Dean Lessard: The college hires school buses.

“Now, it’s just about making sure that our student body has all the relevant information so that they can make the necessary plans for the morning to attend the proper pick-up sites so they can get on campus for their 8:30 exams,” says Lessard.

Finding buses was the easy part.

“There was a fair bit of availability because of the Easter Monday holiday,” Lessard notes.

He says hiring the school buses eliminates some of the exam stress for college students.

“We didn’t want our students worrying about how they were going to get on to campus and then get home at the end of the day.  And this is just, I think, a value added service that Northern College provides our students.”
