Operations are back to normal at the Goldcorp Dome Mine property in South Porcupine following a tailings incident on Saturday.
Communications co-ordinator Pierre Noel tells My Timmins Now Dot Com that a faulty drainage valve has been repaired, and operations in the processing plant resumed on Sunday.
The valve is part of a line that carries tailings and water from the plant to the outdoor tailings pond. Some of the material didn’t make it to the pond, but was quickly contained.
Noel says the clean-up is continuing, as is the internal investigation.
