Northern College is teaming up with Kirkland Lake to research social issues. City council voted unanimously to start the process to have the school come in and look at community planning and citizen well being. Northern College’s Vice President, Dr. Audrey Penner, says the research will be applicable to rural communities across the country. The college and the town will sign the papers to make the partnership official in the coming weeks.
